Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter

User Submission Alert!!! Thanks to aliuribe!!

I wouldn’t say this is a particularly good movie, but I do consider it a gem. It’s a Canadian independent film that was filmed on weekends over the course of 2 years.

Although the title pretty much says it all, there is a lot you won’t be expecting. A Rasputin-esque narrator, a musical number about Jesus gaining public support, gratuitous karate fighting scenes, a luchador, and God speaking through ice cream to name a few. Oh, and all the vampires are lesbians.

The acting is horrific, the sound quality is even worse, but damnit if I didn’t have some of the greatest laughs of my life with this movie.

Here’s the blurb on Netflix:

This indie film garnered awards on the festival circuit, including Slamdance, Zombiedance, the Fargo Film Festival and the Santa Cruz Film Festival. The far-out story has Jesus finally returning to Earth — but he must contend with a world under assault by a band of vampires. Mary Magnum and the god of Mexican wrestling, El Santos, help Jesus fight evil in this oddball horror-comedy.
